After 30 years in education and social services, Tutu decided it was time to do something else, but what? While pondering this question on the Big Island of Hawai’i in the fall of 2003, Tutu was visited by a sweet and friendly chihuahua terrier mix who was abandoned on the street and destined for the pound. Miki was taken in to Tutu’s family but no one knew that she was pregnant. Miki gave birth to 3 little puppies and we found homes for all of them. One of her little pups went to Chicago with her new adoptive family…

After moving to the Big Island a few months later in Spring of 2004, a man was holding a sign on the street that said “Free Dogs.” It turns out, the man was moving into public housing and could only have one dog. He had three. So Tutu’s family brought two more chihuahua/terriers into their home.Well, it seems Miki and Kolohe, an 18 month, handsome male, really liked each other. In time, Miki had another litter of 4 pups. We found homes for each one. It was a joy to see how happy the new families were with their new ‘ohana members. This was the beginning of Tutu’s new profession and the creation of Tutu’s Tiny Tots, LLC.
Tutu’s Tiny Tots, LLC’s mission is to bring joy and happiness to individuals and families by providing healthy, sociable and loving toy breed dogs and puppies.
